Happy Thanksgiving to Y’all!…..I love the Holidays and all my family being together!

Remember my QB from Temple City HS, Kenny Mushinskie, well he’s taken his team, the Ramona Rams,  into the CIF championship game vs. Esperanza Saturday night. When we were at Redlands, we played Esperanza two years in a row, in the first round of the Division 1 CIF playoffs. We won both games….as will Kenny and the Ramona Rams! Beat the Aztecs!

It was fun yesterday, remembering some of the Hogs!

I remember some of those early guys…..The COOOOOOPER brothers! Eric and Kent Cooper were both studs for us. When we needed a yard…..Find a Cooper……=) Noa Kalama was a big Hawaiian….man could he play the ukulele….and knock guys down. A true gift. =) Randy Cauthron and Mike Day were like mutt and jeff…..they loved the Ace block…..=) JD Lanier was nick named the Tin Man. And it wasn’t because he had no heart….he had plenty! Chris Wilson was a wild child! I think he had a tattoo of him flat backing a poor guy….he had a few. (flat backs and tattoo’s) Big George Mondragon was a beast. A quiet assassin! Another big guy was Josh Harwell….He may have been the eighth lost Continent!

We even took Band members that saw the light. Ryan Mortensen joined us and became a starter…. But at half time it was always tuff to get his attention. How about this name….Hunter Hallowed…..He always played well on October 31st. Brad Corcoran improved every week because he wanted it so bad! Evan Colunga was from the same mold….a winner. Miguel Diaz had parents that owned a great restaurant…but he played because he was great. (the tacos didn’t hurt either tho)….=) Joe Armenta just kept pluggin away thru injuries and illness….just kept fighting. Bobby Manning didn’t say much…but his pads did…=)….Even Greeks got in the mix (not geeks)….Josh Theodorakis….maybe one of the most improved guys we ever had. Brett Landon was a “grader”….he never missed an opportunity to light someone up….friendly fire as well…=) Rueben Vasquez always showed heart….He went onto play at La Verne….but we still liked him. I had another young guy, when I retired, Brad Godwin, incredible potential and heart.

I know I missed a few guys…..and as my memory is jogged by nasty emails…=)….I’ll remember you…..All you HOGS are special….Talk Soon …Jim
